Stylesheets allow your organisation to manage consistent branding across StructureFlow — controlling colours, fonts, shapes, and sizes for all entity types. Multiple stylesheets can be configured to support different teams within an organisation, for example a Tax team and a Corporate Law team can each maintain their own distinct styling.
Configuring Stylesheets (System Admin)
To access Stylesheets, log in as a System Admin and navigate to Style & Branding → Stylesheets in your system admin settings.
The stylesheet currently marked as default is automatically applied to all new projects created within the organisation.
Quick Styling
The Quick Styling section lets you update styling across all entities in the stylesheet at once. You can configure:
Background colour
Border colour
Font colour
Border style, background style, and corner style
Label font size
These settings apply globally to all entity types within the selected stylesheet.
Entity Styling
To customise individual entity types, navigate to the Entity Styling section and click
Customise on the relevant entity. This opens styling options specific to that entity, including shape (e.g. rectangle, triangle, or other StructureFlow-supported shapes) as well as background colour, border colour, and other styling properties.
Note: Individual entity styling overrides any Quick Styling settings applied at the stylesheet level.
Managing Stylesheets
Renaming — Stylesheets can be renamed directly next to the stylesheet dropdown.
Changing the default — Select a stylesheet from the dropdown and click Make Default to set it as the organisation-wide default. This will apply to all new projects going forward.
Creating a new stylesheet — New stylesheets must be based on an existing stylesheet. When creating one, you also have the option to generate an HMRC-branded stylesheet (UK), pre-configured with HMRC guidelines and styling.
Deleting a stylesheet — Deletion is possible but not recommended. Only delete a stylesheet if you are certain it is no longer needed.
Stylesheets on the Canvas
When a new project is created, it automatically inherits the default stylesheet set by your organisation's system admin. If you believe the wrong stylesheet has been applied, please contact your internal system admin to update the organisational default.
Changing the Active Stylesheet
You can override the default at the project level at any time:
Open Settings from within the canvas.
Navigate to the Stylesheet tab.
Select your preferred stylesheet from the available options — this becomes the active stylesheet for the project.
Once changed, any new entities dragged onto the canvas will inherit the styling of the newly selected stylesheet.
To apply the active stylesheet to entities already on the canvas, use the Update Existing Entities button in the same settings tab.
Applying a Stylesheet to Specific Entities
To apply the active stylesheet to a selection of entities rather than the entire canvas:
Select one or more entities on the canvas.
Open the Formatting Panel.
Navigate to the Stylesheets tab.
Click Apply Active Style.
This applies the active stylesheet's formatting to all entities within your selection.
Note: Apply Active Style and Update Existing Entities both affect colour and border styling only — background colours, border colours, and border styles will be updated. Entity sizes and shapes are intentionally left unchanged to preserve the layout, line routing, and proportions of your diagram.
